Only confirmation patents are granted on the basis of a granted foreign patent. |
| Examination: |
Only formal examination if the subject matter of the patent does not affect religion, morality and public order. |
| Duration: |
20 years from the date of application and in certain cases the period may be extended for another five years, but subject to the term of the basic patent.
10 years for Utility Models.

| Annuities: |
Annuities are to be paid after filing, calculated from the filing or priority date.
