Trademark Law No.10 of 1991. * Law No. 11 of 2006 concerning Trade Marks was published in Official Gazette No. 2741 on May 31, 2006. The new Law came into force on June 1, 2006 but will be effective once the Implementing Regulations are issued.

| Classification: |
International Classification for goods and services. A separate application has to be filed for each class. |
| Duration: |
A registration is for a period of 10 years and renewable for similar periods. A 3 months grace period is allowed for renewals.

| Use: |
Use is not compulsory. However, a registration is vulnerable to cancellation by any interested party who can establish that the mark was not in use during the five years preceding the application for cancellation and that there was no bona-fide intention to use the mark. |
| Assignment |
A registration can be assigned but with goodwill and the business concern. |
| Licensing: |
Recording of a license is mandatory. |
| Infringement: |
Infringement of a registered trademark is an offense and an actionable wrong. |
