A new Patent law has recently been issued. However, the Implementing Regulations have not yet been issued.
Oman is party to the Gulf Cooperation Council Patent Office which provides effective patent protections within the member countries.
Oman became a member of PCT as of October 26, 2001 as per Royal Decree No. 37/2000 issued on April 24, 2001 and published in the Official Gazette No. 694 dated May 1, 2001.
